Top performer, c2c, has been named again as the most punctual train company in Britain over the past year.
Results show that over the past year 97.3% of c2c trains were on time. This is well ahead of the national average of 91.5%. Almost as good as Swiss Railways managed, 96.6%.
Says c2c managing director, Julian Drury, ‘We’re delighted to be named as the rail industry’s Christmas number one and to complete our year of success. We’re now looking ahead to 2013, where we want to make sure more of our trains are on time than ever before.’
Personal experience of using commuter services from Thorpe Bay to Fenchurch Street, allow me to take exception to the glowing self-satisfaction of C 2 C public relations Apparatchiks ‘puffery’:
‘Bottom Performer’ since C 2 C ‘s inception would be more my ‘tag-line’.
