Southeastern Class 375s undergo revamp

A £30 million revamp of Southeastern’s Class 375s has been completed after thee years.

The project saw a third of the train operator’s fleet upgraded in partnership with Eversholt Rail and Bombardier Transportation.

Each of the 112 trains required three weeks of work by 35 dedicated employees at Bombardier’s Litchurch Lane site in Derby.

Around 83,000 seat covers were dry cleaned, 20,500 litres of paint were used and seven miles of carpet were replaced, according to Southeastern.

Southeastern managing director David Statham said: “Our 625,000 daily passengers deserve the highest levels of comfort and that’s why our trains have been renovated.

“We are very proud of our teams who have worked incredibly hard over the past three years to ensure trains have been refurbished to the highest standards.”
