All change for RailStaff Awards host

Richard Salkeld, the host of the 2018 RailStaff Awards, has announced his departure from Great Western Railway to return to an old patch.

As of March, the media and communications manager has been based in York heading up the news and media team at LNER. Richard had left its predecessor Virgin Trains East Coast back in August 2017.

Speaking to RailStaff last year on the eve of the RailStaff Awards, Richard said: “As an enthusiastic champion of the railway, I enjoy meeting new people and helping celebrate achievements of those who are delivering unbeatable service; ultimately helping to revalue rail in the hearts and minds of the public.”
