Readypower Group is a long-time supporter of the RailStaff Awards and this year has stepped up to sponsor a brand-new award.
The Emerging Talent Team or Person Award celebrates the future of the rail industry by recognising individuals or teams who have made a significant impact in the early stages of their careers.
Replacing our previous Apprentice and Graduate of the Year prizes, this new category shines a spotlight on those who have brought fresh perspectives, infectious energy, and a commitment to excellence in their roles, proving that you don’t need decades of experience to drive meaningful change.
With a market-leading operated asset hire business and specialist civil engineering division, Readypower supports infrastructure projects across the UK rail network, providing operated plant, engineering expertise, and frontline support services to the sector.
Employing experienced rail construction and maintenance teams across the UK, Readypower understands the importance of attracting and developing new talent. From frontline operations to office-based support roles, its workforce plays a key role in delivering projects and services across the industry.
Investing in people
In 2025, Hitachi Rail’s Rohan Manion was named Apprentice of the Year, a category also sponsored by Readypower. As an engineering apprentice Rohan had made an exceptional impression early in his career, according to his colleagues.
Through his leadership, innovation, and dedication he played a central role in a project for the Department for Transport, where he delivered a high-impact report on Driver Advisory Systems. His volunteering in Ghana and outreach at apprenticeship events also reflected his dedication to learning, collaboration, and inspiring others.
On handing over the prize, Readypower Head of HR Erin Neilson said: “Apprentices are everything for this industry, especially considering some of the skills shortages that we face. It’s wonderful to give people a start in the industry and help them to develop new skills. Apprenticeships keep the industry alive and will support us through the future.”
