Francis Paonessa, the managing director of Infrastructure Projects (IP), and Alison Rumsey, group human resources director, are both set to leave Network Rail.

Francis joined IP from Bombardier in 2014 and will leave Network Rail after Easter. Under his leadership IP’s safety record has improved by 65 per cent over the past three years. He has also been responsible for major projects such as London Bridge station, Thameslink and Crossrail.

Meanwhile Alison, who joined Network Rail as HR director of IP in 2015, will leave in late spring to take up her new role as chief HR officer at Associated British Ports.
